Mindfulness for those who aren't into Meditation

Meditation is extraordinary if you stick with it. You'll see significant benefits to your general sense of wellbeing, memory, emotions, and concentration.

We all know it can be life-changing.

What if the idea of meditating is terrifying to you or you don't think you have the time? I have got a solution for you!

Despite what people may think you can practice meditation alternatives or simple mindfulness techniques that will provide a very similar result as meditation would. You will feel calm and notice a slow down of your physical body and emotions.

So you can practice or pick your favourite alternative to meditating to achieve calmness.

1. Go Phone-Free

Whether it is for a whole week straight or just an hour a day while you have dinner with your family, prove to yourself that you can go without your phone. It will have a significant impact on your state of mind.

It can go over our heads how much we don't notice little things when we are on our phones. Those notifications on our phone train our minds only to pay half the attention we usually would. We are always waiting to produce dopamine. We provide ourselves with dopamine with a very simple alert on our smartphone.

GO WITHOUT YOUR SMARTPHONE, AND IT WILL HAVE A SERIOUS IMPACT ON YOUR STATE OF MIND.

2. Walk It Out

Let's think about it: The rhythm of your right foot then your left foot is a similar back and forth rhythm in which we breathe in and then breathe out.

So I think we can agree walking is inherently meditative. Right? To reap the benefits of walking, don't listen to music or use your phone. Be present in the moment.

GO FOR A WALK AND LEARN TO BE PRESENT IN THE MOMENT.

3. Listen To Music

There are many palpable benefits of listening to music; one of those is improving blood vessel function, which, reduced anxiety. Music is the best of both worlds. It will slow down your heart rate by doing a meditation session, but then it will lift it right back up for a workout.

If you want to experience even a small amount of the benefits of meditation, sit still, out on your favourite slow song and let the music carry you away.

LISTEN TO A SLOW SONG TO HELP YOU SLOW DOWN YOUR HEART RATE AND FEEL AT PEACE.

4. Listen to a Guided Meditation

Now hear me out, there is a massive difference between a guided meditation and a silent meditation. So, if you have never tried a talk through meditation, give it a chance.

There are so many forms of meditation, and sometimes its just the matter of finding what works best for you. I couldn't personally silence my brain to be able to do silent meditation, so I started with a guided meditation. Now I can do any form of meditation without any difficulty.

TRY A GUIDED MEDITATION IF YOU CAN'T SLOW YOUR MIND DOWN ON A SILENT MEDITATION!

5. Sit and Watch The Grass Grow

Whenever I go to my grandparents late at night, I go to sit at the park and be at peace with myself. I concentrate on the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees, watch the stars and spot a fox or two!

When I go back inside, I feel so connected to nature, my body has slowed down, and I feel calm.

You don't need to go at night you can go whenever suits you, in the morning, go to the park or feed ducks or if you live near a beach that's amazing! Feel the sand between your toes or listen to the waves! I promise you; you will come back and feel the same effects you would after a meditation session.

SPEND TIME OUTSIDE TO BE ONE WITH NATURE AND FEEL CALM.

6. Learn To Trust Your Intuition

Meditation helps us tune into the quiet messages our mind and body give us. Sometimes it can be a small change we need to make, and other times it can be a more significant change.

You don't need to meditate to hear or sense these insights. Your intuition is continuously telling you precisely what you need. A lot of the time, we simply aren't listening.

By learning to tune into those messages within your mind and body, you will have a constant sense of calmness and appreciate the journey you are on, by being guided when you need the guidance.

LEARN TO LISTEN TO THE MESSAGES YOUR MIND AND BODY GIVE YOU IT COULD BE IMPORTANT.

7. Leave the House 15 Minutes Early

I get it, you try! However, if you can try and make it a habit of getting from place to place a little earlier very relaxing.

When you are not in a hurry, you have an opportunity to listen to the small things. You will find that naturally, you will be far more generous such as stopping someone in need when you aren't in a rush.

LEAVE THE HOUSE EARLIER TO NOT FEEL STRESSED AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE GENEROUS TO OTHERS.

Use these Mindfulness techniques to find your inner Zen.

If you don't feel like you want to or can meditation, you are not alone. It is not easy. That also does not mean that you can't get the same benefits meditation gives you in other ways. Try out these meditation alternatives and see how it helps you.
